It also depends where in Jersey. a lot of Hudson County is closer to midtown than the parts of Brooklyn and Queens that have similar rents.

Honestly if you live in the lower income areas of NYC it will take you longer to get to Manhattan than from NJ

Depends on where! I’m 20 minutes by bus to port authority. When I lived in Harlem I was 30 min. I pay 1200 for what would be 2500 in Manhattan

I live 3 stops away from penn station (nj transit line) and it is 100% worth it. I would get home before my friends in the boroughs 😂

It absolutely won’t save you money. The money you save in rent will surely go to outrageous monthly bus or train fares unless you drive your car in.
