Timer going to move and make noise until it breaks no matter if plugged in or not. Jump the door connection and try again. I'll check back after work.

YouTube it. That’s how I fixed our dryer. I YouTubed the make and model with what it was doing and found the fix and what part I needed.

you are going the WRONG WAY you should always go clockwise NEVER COUNTER CLOCKWISE you will definitely screw up your washing machine

Same happened to mine once. The tech service changed just that piece. It doesn't "click" bc it's supposed to turn just to one side only.
