Put a blanket over the crate and set a time every day for puppy to go to sleep. The puppy will cry for 2or 3 days. That’s how we trained our husky.

Leave the room so you don’t cave in and it can settle better. Also make sure to ignore it if you stay in the room. That stuff worked in my experience!
