Using tracking apps IS better than nothing at all .. but they are not extremely reliable. (I did for years) Check out FAM and TCOYF! Changed my life!

i use my calendar. it does the tracks your period, symptoms, ovulation etc. it always dead on. good references for dr. app when asked questions
