Had a quick change of mind. All day was searching for the devastation. Asking others where to go. Constantly being told people have what they need. I was at a loss and couldnt understand. Went to every location the locals pointed us in. Then realized the next morning, after making the loop on an off ramp exit, if we would have took a left turn instead of a right turn, it would have brought us right in the middle of the worst. By taking the right, we were actually heading further and further away from it. Once we realized our mistake, prior to meeting up with @Jollygreengiant33 and @BrannonNC we traveled back to Asheviile and Black Mountain area and easily came up on the horrific damage. Itll be a long time before all the places are restored, but the locals and the volunteers/contractors have seemed to really get a good grip on it at this point. They still need help. People are still in tents. Some that perished are yet to be found. Its cold at night. It’s unimaginable and completely different type disaster than a hurricane on the gulf coast in a sea level situation. Brannon and Jolly and their entire team have been doing amazing work getting heaters, generators, propane, food etc out to people in need. Im happy to have met them, and to have partnered with them, and hope we can all do it again. My heart goes out to yall in every state that fell victim to Hurricane Helene, And I promise to continue to help where and when I can. #hurricanehelene #hurricanerelief #disasterrelief #northcarolina
