It also helps keep you hydrated can’t push for 4 1/2 hours dehydrated. I had one that was supplying me with fluids.

I'm genuinely trying to understand. why is having an IV an issue? it's placed for preparation just in case, doesn't mean it will be used.

How about a saline lock rather than a full IV? I would personally much rather have fluids and nutrition via food & water rather than hooked up bag.

I was thankful for iv. It kept me hydrated and after 12 hrs of back labor I got a epi and my BP bottomed out. the iv was crucial
