A great time to set a family password. Using it in emergency situations where the kid knows to get to momma is super helpful

Straight facts. I’ve seen so many kids that are used to being yelled at on a daily become numb to it and completely tune it out.

Yes this is so true. It can be hard not to yell when frustrated or overwhelmed but it really has its benefits to try and keep our cool.

“Right now this is important, and I need you to listen, and I can explain later.” AND THEN ACTUALLY EXPLAIN LATER.

I get down at eye level and EXPLAIN my “stop”, “no”, and “can’t”. So I explain, “I said no BECAUSE - x, y, z reasons.” Not just “because I said so.”

I commented on your original video. My partner doesn’t get this. He uses “stop” and “don’t” constantly and our son never listens.

Do you have suggestions for parents who are working to change their parenting style, but have previously utilized yelling for more than danger?

I've literally been in education my whole life. I always tell my students and my own kid why rules exist. If I can't, the rule can't exist.
