It’s not an AC, It puts out a fine mist of water which vaporizes quite quickly, which due to the latent heat of vaporization cools down the air around it (it takes energy from the air to vaporize itself). However there are drawbacks, it increases the humidity level in the air, which is the opposite of what an AC does, and if it is already humid where you live this will not work nearly as well

I’ve gone thru 2 in six months. Cools great but no longevity both just stopped working not worth the expense.
