I always let the dog come to me for a fuss instead of going to them. Then the fuss in on their terms and I’m not invading their personal space 😊

Idk why so few people know about this... every time I see some1 pet a dog 99 % of the time its on top of head and u can tell the dog is rlly nervous

wow didn't know this. I've taught my 4yr old to always ask if he can stroke a dog first as he loves them but I will make sure this is the next lesson

My dog is nervous and when people want to smooth him I always say under the chin / behind the ears as on top he will back away

everybody that meets my dog rub his head. literally 100s. he is 70 kg st Bernard. He never backs or pulls away. He loves it. Total strangers

No matter what I do, dogs love me. However if they’ve never met me before and they seem timid or anything I just sit down, let them decide to say hi.
