I use cover pots all the time. If the plant seems happy in its nursery pot, you don't need to repot right away.

This is what I do! Or put water in the pot then bottom water plants 😁 If I have to repot I buy another plastic pot a size up 😅

I take some small rocks/gravel put them at bottom of pot for drainage then add dirt over when I have a pot w no holes works well
