It doesn’t matter as long as a series is all the same. Although for holidays and special occasions, my family only gives hardbacks.

my biggest issues with paperbacks are that they sometimes ARENT floppy and the spines break easily 🥲

I personally feel safer while reading a hardcover; it’s harder to rip, warp, or bend the cover and pages. But they cost way too much for me to afford

I’m a very clumsy person with multiple pets(one of which seems to love eating books) so hardback just tend to last a lot longer for me.

Hardcovers are non-recyclable. Paperbacks are recyclable. I am going to stick with the paperbacks.

The majority of books where I live are paperbacks. Hardcovers are hard to get and they’re very expensive + you have to pay for shipping overseas 🥲

I always prefer hardback cause when it’s in my backpack it doesn’t get scuffed as much as paperbacks. Paper always frays or gets scuff
