I've had that before.....the Alt S wire has a tendency to short out....done a few harnesses for it

fuel shot off going bad? low vacuum or bad vacuum line will kill lp valve

i always try to replace batteries when i do alternators to avoid them prematurely burning out especially in the high start stop applications...

Did you check the battery fuse, I over looked that with a battery/charging problem before
