Also...who cares? If you have mild warp in a surface for small objects, what diff will it make at the bit? You're not routing dining tables on it, lol

Like all woods, it can warp. Just had a 4x8 that looked like it spent weeks in the rain.

3/8 and thinner, sure, warps quickly enough but 5/8 like that is pretty stiff, that's the whole idea of plying

Storage is key. If it starts flat, it generally stays flat. I use Baltic birch for critical things though.

Someone’s only used pine or spruce. Birch is incredibly stable due to the number of layers. Though really, any ply works fine as long as it stays dry

Cabinet grade plywood is good enough! I like using particle board or melamine for shop stuff. It’s stable and flat. I also like HDPE
