That was a fun surprise 🤗 New growth is always so exciting! I pruned this branch because it was growing too close to the ceiling and I wanted it to branch out—looks like I got my wish! I’ve owned this fiddle leaf fig for about 4-5 years. It has sat in this same spot it’s whole life, between a west and north window. I added the grow light this past spring and I’ve seen great results. This is the Sansi 36w linked in my amazon store in my bio. I water when completely dry and use foliage pro every time (link in bio). Honestly, my fiddle leaf fig was the reason I started using this fertilizer, and it worked so well on it I started using it on all my other plants 🙌🏻 I know ficus can be tricky but giving them the brightest light you have (mine is actually not in ideal light, it should be in front of the window) or adding a grow light will help tremendously! But it’s important to get it in the right spot right after you buy it. It’s harder for them to recover once they start going down hill. What ficus questions do you have? If you consider yourself a plant parent this post is for you! ⬇️ Put plants crave light (obviously) and need even more during the shorter days of winter. Grow lights SHOULD be on our radar as far as tools to help our plants grow. I specifically use grow lights for plants that have been outside all summer to ease the transition indoors and to keep them growing at (nearly) the same rate as they were all summer long. I use a variety of lights. My favorite are the Rousseau lights (link in bio discount code HOUSEPLUSPLANT15) and then I also like and use the Sansi light bulbs (linked in amazon store in bio) and place them in either pendant light cords or lamps rated for their wattage. I will say using grow lights has upped my ficus game TREMENDOUSLY as it keeps them growing all winter allowing for major gains in size in each season. Do you use grow lights?
