Hay que avanzar. Queda mucho por conseguir. No se aprecia en absoluto el esfuerzo que hacemos las madres lactantes.

It was a joyous day, 31 July, for a couple who welcomed a new addition to their family. Unfortunately, happiness turned into tragedy just a day later. 38-year-old Toh Xin Ling was discharged from hospital on 2 Aug after giving birth to her second child. The next day, she unexpectedly collapsed at home. Her husband, 35-year-old Mr Ang, said he received the news while he was driving back from the hospital with his newborn daughter. When he reached home, Toh was already unconscious and had no pulse. Paramedics who arrived on scene attempted to resuscitate her, then sent her to hospital. However, she could not be revived. Toh’s death was indicated as “valvular heart disease”. And said that he had brought their 2-year-old elder daughter to the hospital to say her final farewell, and it was a heartbreaking scene. “She’s still young, but when she saw that her mother was not moving, she know that something was different this time. She kept crying for her mother.” Ang said that his wife had a congenital heart condition known as bicuspid aortic valve. Doctors had advised her that pregnancy would be risky for her, and recommended that the couple not have children, or have an abortion if pregnancy endangered her life. However, Toh had always wanted a big, happy family as she was the second-youngest of 5 siblings. She is remembered by her family as a kind-hearted and generous person.
