Most airlines won’t let you switch anymore. That was nice of the attendant to allow it. My guy is 6’5” and we usually have to reserve the exit row.

Actually, coming from a check in agent, we always try to give exit seats to tall/young people. It is forbidden to assign those seats to older people.
