❤️ October 29 — World Stroke Day ❤️ April 8, 2024. A date that forever changed our lives. 💔 That was the day my husband, Tim, suffered two massive strokes, including one in his brainstem. One day we were living our normal lives, running our businesses, making plans, and looking forward to our future. And then, in the blink of an eye, everything changed. Nobody can prepare you for what a stroke can take away. The ability to walk, talk, swallow, or do the simplest things we take for granted every single day. But what I’ve learned over these past two and a half years is that a stroke doesn’t just affect the person who has it. It changes marriages. Families. Dreams. And entire futures. I’ve watched Tim fight battles most people will never see. I’ve celebrated words, movements, and little victories that once seemed impossible. And I’ve learned that recovery isn’t always measured in big milestones. Sometimes it’s measured in the smallest moments that mean absolutely everything. 🥹❤️ Today, on World Stroke Day, I’m sharing our story for one reason. Stroke awareness matters. Knowing the warning signs and getting help immediately can save a life. I wouldn’t wish this journey on anyone. But I’m so thankful Tim is still here, and I’ll never stop being proud of how hard he’s fought. ❤️ To every stroke survivor, caregiver, and family walking this journey… I see you. And I know how much those little victories mean. Please learn the warning signs of a stroke. You never know whose life you might save. ❤️🙏 #WorldStrokeDay #StrokeAwareness #StrokeSurvivor #StrokeRecovery #StrokeCaregiver
