My security camera placed on the soffit did something similar where the image was foggy. I had to move it so the IR light didn't reflect.

infrared is light. like polished steel can reflect visible light, some materials can reflect infrared

IR wavelengths are just like regular light in that they reflect. Those surfaces are mirrors to the IR spectrum that your camera sees.

Emissivity and reflective properties. IR shows the surface infrared radiation and metal is reflective to IR.
