DOL Starter (Direct-On-Line) Components MC = Magnetic Contactor OLR = Overload Relay ON = Start Push Button (NO) OFF = Stop Push Button (NC) M = 3-Phase Motor Working Press ON button. MC coil energizes. Contactor contacts close and supply goes directly to the motor. MC auxiliary NO contact provides holding/latching. Press OFF or if OLR trips, motor stops. Use Small motors. Forward-Reverse Starter Components F.MC = Forward Contactor R.MC = Reverse Contactor NC Contacts = Electrical Interlocking Working Press ON.F → Forward contactor energizes → Motor rotates forward. Press ON.R → Reverse contactor energizes → Two phases interchange → Motor rotates reverse. NC interlocking prevents both contactors from turning ON together. Star-Delta Starter Components M.MC = Main Contactor Y.MC = Star Contactor Δ.MC = Delta Contactor Timer = Changes Star to Delta after a delay Working Press START. Main and Star contactors energize. Motor starts in Star connection (lower starting current). Timer counts. Timer switches OFF Star contactor and switches ON Delta contactor. Motor runs in Delta connection at full voltage. Use Large motors. Reduces starting current. Common in pumps, compressors, and industrial machinery.
