Kromanti/Kromantse is the name of a coastal town in Ghana (then Gold Coast). It was once a slave port where the Fort Amsterdam is situated. Kromantse is my hometown and we speak the Fante language words of which I can actually identify from this video.

Sadly a lot of the younger maroons don’t speak kromanti. It’s a dying language and won’t exist in the near future. I hope that doesn’t happen tho.
