1. At 26, I bought a house with my partner before marriage because we’re both self-employed, and it made more sense to invest our money than spend it on a wedding. And I’ll have kids before marriage, too—because I want my kids to experience my wedding. 2. I don’t feel peer pressure. I’m sure a therapist could diagnose me with something, but if I don’t want to do something, I just say no. And if people try to pressure me, I actually feel sad for myself—not for them—and distance myself even more. 3. I believe in perfect people. Perfection isn’t about how you look when everyone’s watching—it’s about being the most perfect version of you. I believe you are the most perfect you and so am I. I can grow, I can better myself, but I don’t believe in imperfection. (Life is too short) 4. I’ve been doing the same job (content creation) since I was 16, but I’ve never once called it my passion. I fell into it, realized it was too good to give up, and grew to love it. But what it really gave me was the ability to fuel my true passions—writing books, cooking, sports, and taking care of my family. 5. I don’t mind your political views, but I don’t want to hear about them. Your vote is yours, and I respect that. I don’t think politics should be about changing other people’s opinions, and I’d rather focus on the kind of person you are. 6. I hate celebrating my birthday. It makes me so sad because I feel guilty that people are spending time on me. It’s something I’m working on, but every year, it’s the same feeling. This year I plan on changing that by having a 29th Schmidt themed birthday party. 7. I grew up a really shy kid… and I still am. I just fake being outgoing.
