The more hood time the better. Flat plate to start, watch the puddle more closely. If it was easy everyone would weld. 👩🏼🏭🔥👍🏻

I can’t lie as a young welder I have put some bad welds down more so when I first started out now being 3 years in the trade your weld isn’t that bad

better then my first time you have to establish a puddle first keep a tight arc and don't move so fast make sure you hitting both edges watch the toe.

you need proper gloves and something to shield your arms. I would definitely start with supported welding instead of unsupported even if you have to
