If you use more than one pulley on the one system it makes it easier. Reduces the weight on the person pulling. Google for better explanation

By tying one end of the rope onto the scaffold and adding a pulley upside down to the bucket connect to another pulley on the scaffold you can lift that bucket with half the force or lift a bucket doubt the size with the same force

Would be better buying the sailing rope at bunnings. Easier on the hands. Oh those handles on the bucket dont look safe
