Cursive is quicker than print, if you are handwriting a lot cursive will greatly improve your efficiency.

I’m a history major and if you can’t read cursive you can’t read most historical documents or famous journals. It’s way more needed than I could’ve thought

From an older guy, it was because you had to write everything in cursive and rarely printed. It was faster for students too.

I had a friend write all his assignments in it and the teachers could not read it so he just got a 100 even though it was complete nonsense

The old people in my life say it’s an important life skill. For writing letters. I never use it and they keep handing me things in cursive.

You cant read the founding documents unless you know cursive, T'is why it should still be taught in schools, Also is is much faster than writing in print, but alas people are removing it from schools simply because they see it as outdated, or on a more conspiratorial note it may be because they simply wish for us not to be able to read the original founding documents, That is simply my take and I bid a fine day to whomever is reading this.

So cursive was a way of writing without picking up the pen between letters. It was faster. But now we can just poke a photo of the letter.
