After a few minutes of helping our Chef in Colombia, she passed out. This is a normal reaction when working with fascia and trauma. What I noticed as she left her body was she went immediately into rapid eye movements (REM) which is a sign of processing emotions and trauma. When she woke, she mentioned how light, alive, and energized she felt. To help the processing, we went into the ocean afterwards and she had another huge emotional release! In moments like these it can feel scary being on my side...but I’ve seen the end result of these situations so many times and it’s always been overwhelmingly positive. I now know to trust the process and let the body do what it needs to do. - @jasonvanblerk Many may consider this unsafe, however we believe the body is intelligent and will do precisely what it needs to do to achieve homeostasis and balance. It is very important that during assisted fascial maneuvers, the person assisting is very calm, present and tuned into the person they are engaging with. @jasonvanblerk does this so well as you can see here 🙏 @jasonvanblerk remains calm, places one hand under her head and one on her belly, breathes with Paulina, allows her emotions to flow until her body has finished processing ❤️ In many therapies when people pass out its is believed to be a surge of stress and trauma release! Fascial maneuvers are non invasive and provide the least amount of input directly to the body, while resulting in the most amount of output. This is a perfect example of that. Meaning, Paulina was carrying A LOT of stress and trauma that needed to be released. During gentle fascial treatment, her body knew it was safe to let go of a lot of stress now. Our bodies need TLC daily, accumulated stress lives in our body. What do you do to release stress daily?
