Wasn't this directed by Luc Besson? Who also directed the Fifth Element. In which one of the character acts like a newborn child (bc she kind of is).

Director Luc Besson is a big creep (despite his obvious genius as a filmmaker/ storyteller). But, actor Jean Reno portrays Léon as completely asexual.

they also cut some fun cleaner scenes too for the American version. I guess I always appreciated Leon being uncomfortable. or at least how I read it.

it was a great movie. a hitman saves a girl. the girl is in love with her rescuer. the hitman is in love like he has a daughter. he fights for her
