In honor of my year mark since I’ve deployed 🥳 First Deployment – J35 Medical Planner, Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras! I’ve reflected on what an incredible experience my first deployment was while working on the Joint Staff. If you’re a 41A (Air Foce Healthcare Administration), RUN don’t walk toward this opportunity. What began with hesitation when I was first asked to take the deployment tasker turned into a period of tremendous growth and confidence 🙌🏿. At the time, I had only been in the career field for a year and seven months, and I wasn’t sure I was ready. But I quickly realized that everyone out there was learning, adapting, and doing their best to move the mission forward together. Along the way, I gained a deeper understanding of myself and had the chance to work alongside the Army and Marines (shoutout to my Army peers. Especially CPT Courtney Moss🩷) 🙌🏿. I started in Honduras and later forward deployed to Panama, where I led six Global Health Engagement missions. That experience alone pushed me to grow in ways I didn’t expect, especially in project management and leadership. I wrapped up back in Honduras, where I planned medical emergency response plans for major exercises across Central America, an experience that was both challenging and rewarding. Overall, the deployment was invaluable. The camaraderie, the joint environment, the challenges, and the people made it unforgettable. If I had the chance to do it all over again, I absolutely would. Huge thank you to my Joint Task Force Bravo team, your trust in me and my expertise has truly strengthened my confidence for everything ahead
