Yes u can just slap a t case on that and it will work, but from my experience a 4wd transmission is beefed up on the internals, idk if this is true or

I once converted a 2wd 6l80 by shortening the output shaft and plugging the tail shaft fluid holes

Not the case on all Ford Transmisssions. Some of those 6R140’s don’t even have thread on the back of the case.
