Financial stress is the number one stress for people. In my practice I treat patients of all generations. People from different generations have different ways of approaching money based on their past experiences and the mentalities shaped during their childhood by their predecessors 🕰️📕 🧓🏾Boomers mentality may have stemmed from their parents who went through w@r and economic uncertainty. Because their parents went through economic instability they were told to always save money in physical places in case of a rainy day. Their parents having scarcity trauma led to generational trauma in their own behaviors. 💼Gen X was raised in the age of materialistic accumulation. They think about financial assets and wanted a chance to accumulate their own wealth. Women were able to have their own credit without a man to co-sign and focused on growing their own wealth. 👩🏻‍💻Millennials grew up in the age of internet convenience. They were the first generation to be born into an age of online information. They were also raised in an age of student loan debt and often struggle to pay off debt while trying to build a life for themselves. 🤳Gen Z grew up in the age of social media where they connect in a digital age as digital natives. Their interactions online are just as valuable as interactions in person. They are deliberate about their choices to value their rigid boundaries and advocate openly for their preferences. They have high financial stress as the cost of living makes it difficult for them to have the assets that their predecessors had. *Does not capture all experiences in every generation* #creatorsearchinsights #moneytok #generations #millennials #genx #genz #financialstress #povertytrauma #scarcitytrauma #generationaltrauma
