run the deep groove of the belt parallel to the balancer pully. turn the belt 90 degrees, slide it under perpendicular to the teeth on the pump.

You don’t need to replace it. Audi dealer tech. They don’t have much tension. Never seen one break. Slide or walk the old belt on the new pump.

Maybe back the bolt out a little to allow wiggle room. But no go there since bolt is 1 time use

I've done dozens upon dozens of them.... Never have to replace. The belt even seeing it at 250k miles, they're a-ok

I just did it the other day. walk the belt around it. I did it in a minute. same concept as a slip belt

We don’t replace them.. that bolt is left hand thread and typically breaks off.

I’m a Audi tech, you can replace it but you have to back out that bolt a little. Had to replace that belt once

If you loosen the pulley (as the bolt has a taper) it allows the pulley to angle a bit in order to allow old belt to slide off and slight new one on.

Also, just a reminder. An oil leak failed that seal. If you don’t fix the cam bridge leak. It’ll happen again shortly.

5 yrs deep working on these engines, have yet to see one break. Warranty dont cover a new belt anyway. We don’t replace em 🤷🏻♂️

Skoda is the same but east west correct? I changed the belt managed to finangle it out and the new one in, didn't damage the belt was tight tho 🤷
