From what I’ve learned, it’s the only way to get a realistic flash and backfiring effect! The blanks are typically safe, and gun is safety inspected

It’s to make it realistic. But there are protocols and training done prior to shooting. Someone just didn’t do their job

making the gun sound and light effects in post would be so cost prohibitive It's so much cheaper just to use a blank and a real gun and normally
