Let them pick toys, towels pj's and whatnot. If nothing is working try outside..if warm enough do a kiddie pool so it's "pool" time

Doesnt always work, but mermaid makeup!! I do sparkly makeup (not my own, always w/ a q-tip or hand!), and then they choose a “tail” (towel).

always show older kids who are capable of bathing/showering on their own how to lock the door & let them know they have total privacy in the bathroom

Worked in residential treatment w/girls & PTSD w/bathing is real & sad.Took wks sometimes.I've held hands as they got used to just a foot getting wet.

Can fill the bath with a few inches of warm water with bubbles and let them stand outside the bath and play in it.

adding a soft matt to the floor of the tub may help! i had one when i was little and it was super comforting

it's traumatic for a child to get ripped out of home and be placed with a total stranger so taking a bath is probably the last thing they want to do
