I wish more people would understand that trauma isn’t just something that happens in the mind; it affects your whole body.  When you go through something traumatic, your nervous system can get stuck in overdrive.  This can make it hard to fall asleep or feel rested, cause blood sugar drops that leave you shaky and confused, and lead to muscle cramps, low libido, dizziness, and constant fatigue.  These physical symptoms show how deeply trauma can impact your entire system—your brain, hormones, and overall health. Healing, therefore, isn’t just about talking through what happened; it’s about calming your nervous system and restoring balance to your body. For example, practices like mindfulness, breathwork, grounding practices etc. are powerful tools in this ❤️‍🩹 process.  They help you calm your mind, ease your body out of that constant state of alert and stress, and help you to feel safe again. It’s about learning to trust, love and connect with yourself, to navigate through your emotions and hold space for yourself.
