My dad’s GP of 10 years is retiring. He was an excellent GP who treated my father’s spinal pain appropriately, despite the horrific 2016 CDC Guidelines. My dad is 86-years-old. He has taken a schedule 3 nar($tic for 20 years for severe spinal problems. The medication has enabled him to live independently. The existing GP’s office would not transition him to them…..because he takes an opiate. He went to a second physician, who accused and DOCUMENTED him as “doctor shopping” to support an addiction. He’s 86 years old. He doesn’t drink or smoke, or ever used recreational drugs. He has never been an addict. He worked at at, and retired from, the same place after 40 years. I am SICKENED and feel raw, white rage knowing that a trained, healthy, young professional has no reservation doing this to a patient - to another human being - who came to them for help.
