Power over internet (PoE) is for powering things with an Ethernet connection, this is more commonly known as Powerline Ethernet but super handy!

That’s not POE. It’s just a wifi receiver that plugs into the wall. Will not get Ethernet capabilities by no means!

Definitely not POE, good for modern wired homes but older homes might have issues & don't expect crazy speeds or a super stable connection. It's a 🩹

powerline ethernet is actually really reliable. I've used it for years, but you need to have good quality wiring in your walls.

that's not POE that's powerline, it sends your signal through your standard wiring

NOPE! Powerlines are garbage. Inconsistent connection, bad jitter and packet loss... run a cable. it's worth it 👍

POE is the wrong terminology for this. POE implies that the device on the other end is being “powered” by the Ethernet line like a camera, switch etc

The trick to these is that both devices are on the same circuit and share a neutral.

When they work, they work well, but I have had nothing but bad experiences with them. Each circuit they jump cuts the potential speed significantly.

I don’t trust these things, one surge and ur done, unfortunately putting these adapters on a surge protector Diminishes speed

I used one of these for years and it worked wonderfully but you need a house with modern wiring for it to be reliable

I use a power line for a tv that I don’t have an Ethernet line in. The speed isn’t the same as a normal Ethernet line but it’s better than wifi
