SOWORE ALLEGES TINUBU HAS FIVE PRIVATE JETS, RAISES QUESTIONS OVER SEYI TINUBU’S WEALTH African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has alleged that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has five private jets, claiming that the president acquired new aircraft after selling older ones. Sowore reportedly said he knew the claim to be a fact, adding to the ongoing political debate surrounding the wealth of Nigeria’s political leaders and their families. The activist also alleged that Seyi Tinubu, the president’s son, controls enormous financial resources, raising questions about wealth and influence within the corridors of power. However, the specific claim that President Tinubu has five private jets acquired since assuming office in 2023 has not been independently verified. The allegations come amid previous public debate over Nigeria’s presidential aircraft fleet. In August 2024, the Federal Government acquired a refurbished Airbus A330 for presidential use, while an older Boeing 737 was subsequently listed for sale. These aircraft are part of the government’s presidential fleet, which is distinct from any personally owned aircraft. The claims by Sowore are likely to fuel further debate over transparency, public spending and accountability in Nigeria. Almond FM will continue to bring you updates on Nigeria’s political developments.
