it certainly does work but I didn't take my curtains down,just cut the toilet roll in half n put on the pole in-between each eyelet

Try pool noodles they work so much better and it makes the curtain more fluffy on the top.

Another tip is if you pop some fishing weights in the bottom seam, It keeps the curtain straight and it doesn’t blow around heaps in the wind

did this, and my toilet rolls are peeking through the grommet holes and I can see them when looking at the front. The diameter of the toilet roll is smaller than the grommets, so they slide out 😔
