It’s most helpful for leather! Seam allowances are usually glued open & then rolled smooth & flat. (Finger-pressing looks lumpy & irons are damaging)

i have one like that that i bought at a construction store. the roller is hard plastic instead of rubber and it works so well!

I use a seam roller mostly on my English paper piecing. I don’t want to warp/burn my paper with the iron and for me finger pressing just doesn’t last
