It is most absolutely necessary. It’s a danger to your child and the person drawing their blood to get an accidental needle stick. Just cause you don’t “think” she would do anything but you don’t “know.” Let the medical professionals do their job

Next time have them put a heat pack on her arm before finding a vein. They’ll pop right up ( my daughter has to do this for blood draws)

Dude we went through this when my baby was a newborn. Multiple times they had to redraw because they couldn’t get what they needed. I was madd😏

From experience I know it hurts when they put the rubber band on my arm I remember one time they could not find my vein at all and poked me 4 times ⬇️

Phlebotomist here this is completely normal. That’s how you have to hold a child’s arm. There is nothing wrong with this at all.

I'm so use to needles and they don't bother me but the painful part of blood draw is those bands and how tight they make them lol
