Hearing people CAN learn sign language. Deaf people CANNOT learn how to hear, regardless if they have cochlear implant/hearing aid. It’s not the same.

Wow! ASL is NOT easy, especially learning as an adult. The fact u are signing every word, taking your time to finger spell, I mean-truly, one day (1)

Use the sign for “need/must” when you are saying they HAVE to learn sign.

This! I completely agree. he shouldn't have to adapt to others, others should have to adapt to his language!

As a senior, I’ve tried and it’s been very difficult. How much are you requiring them to know before they see their grand child????

If a kid can learn sign an adult can learn sign. Simple as that. It’s not any easier for him than it is for them, & they’re selfish if they—

The sign you did for “had” means that you have an object, you should sign the word “need/must” for the context you are using it.
