Ice dams would not be a problem, those form in gutters or other weird angles where I've can build up and block melting water from draining

I lived in a thatch roofed house in Denmark. Sometimes we’d get up to 2 feet of snow.The roof held up really well and it made the prettiest icicles.

But have to be replaced after 10 years cause it rotts. And expensive when newly made. We had it in Europe to but not longer cause it burns very easy.
