@addopp2: Reply to @genevivelandryauthor for anyone who has ever asked “why the scars?” When it comes to top surgery. Everyone heals differently — some people have had the same procedure I had and their scars are way less visible, just luck of the draw I guess! I love my results either way 🙌🏼

My surgeon was on me about scar care afterwards and I straight up told him, no, I want my scars.

Exactly. Scars stretch even when the surgeon make them as small as possible how they look like depends a lot on how they heal.

my surgeon did I great job but I hate how stretched and red it is. Looking into laser to reduce redness.

Yeah most peoples scars start out really thin, but your body adds more scar tissue as it heals to make it stronger. Totally normal 🤷🏼

Scars from incisions/tearing/blunt dissection/scrapes/burns are all so different. Bodies are beautiful, we tell stories ❤️

as someone whose brother in law is currently transitioning, I thank you for talking about top/bottom surgeries so I can be more supportive of him ❤

my scars from other surgeries keloid! they are super itchy, and my dermatologist has been doing cortisone injections.
