There's an AirBNB in Austin TX where you can fly with macaws. As a bird lover, I had the experience of a lifetime getting to see these birds express their natural behaviors and truly stretch their wings. This AirBNB is part of Wyatts 2nd chance ranch, an animal rescue that these birds, along with many other animals, call home. The rescue is run by my friend Nick, otherwise known as @The Gaysian cowboy on social media. He practices something call "free-flying" with his birds, which is where they are essentially "off-leash" and allowed to fly anywhere their wings can take them. This practice is very controversial in the bird community, and I'll touch on why in another video. But in the meantime, I can't recommend this Airbnb enough. We spent the morning feeding some birds and meeting all the cool critters. Some of the animals on his ranch are not pets, but in fact rescued wildlife - some like this fox were previously thought to be unreleasable, but here they are able to live free. The private guesthouse itself was perfect for our family, and I absolutely loved the bird-themed decor - how cute is the rainbow made of different color feathers? We were also lucky enough to witness the solar eclipse while we were there. All the while, Nick really made us feel like family, and it wasn't long before we were socializing with his husband and son. Although we were only stopping through Austin for one night, it actually felt like we took another vacation while spending time here. For any birds lover out there, this is a must-see stop on your next road trip. There's truly nothing quite like witnessing the beauty of a macaw flying by your side.
