Oh wow, I’ve been wanting to use this song with Satoru for so long. I’ve mentioned many times how Satoru’s love has sabotaged him repeatedly. I’ve also pointed out how he’s full of love and acts on behalf of it (there’s a lot of love in JJK in general). I think Gege himself (or should I say themselves? I recently found out that we actually don’t know their identity—also, I might be wrong and maybe someone else said this, but it doesn’t really matter) stated that the only flaw Satoru has is that he’s too good. And that’s true. He saves Yuta and Yuji, opposing the higher-ups and protecting both of them from what he himself was a victim of. Both Yuta and Yuji found themselves with a special-grade curse essentially inside their bodies, so he couldn’t physically save them. What he could do, instead, was save them from the death sentence and teach them how to deal with it. He tries to let his students live as normal a life as possible without wasting their youth. They’re still students, so of course, they have to go on missions that can be truly dangerous. Still, he tries to let them fight curses within their capabilities, precisely to prevent them from going through what he did. When Yuji, Nobara, and Megumi are sent to the detention center, resulting in Yuji’s death, we see Gojo’s resentment because he wasn’t aware of it. Don’t even get me started on the whole Geto situation—how he waits years before actually killing him—should I let this slide? Because I know that everyone would struggle in killing their significant one, but Suguru had literally killed innocents and had an evil plan to pursue; still, Gojo doesn’t immediately stop him—because of his feelings for him. And waits before killing him—because of his love. (Even the whole Amanai thing could be mentioned but I don’t have room for it) In Shibuya, he accepts the fight alone. Now, I know he’s the strongest, and I know that was Kenjaku’s entire plan, but still—he does it because he always fulfills his role, no matter how much he hates it. And in that same arc, he chooses a plan to save all the humans without killing them, even though it wasn’t the most effective option. Then, of course, there’s the whole self-sabotage aspect of Kenjaku’s plan, which relied on Gojo’s love for Geto. I could write an entire essay on this, but the fact that the only thing that worked against Gojo was his love for his best friend? The fact that Kenjaku knew Gojo would be completely vulnerable in front of Geto, even though he had personally killed him months before? All of this wouldn’t have been possible if Gojo had cremated Geto’s body—but he didn’t. And why? Because of his LOVE. Last but not least, we all know that he took care of Megumi and Tsumiki after killing Toji. While I don’t want to spend too much time on how he helped them, the crazy part is that he knew the story behind the last user who had both the Six Eyes and the Infinity technique and the last user with the Ten Shadows technique. To me, this is a form of indirect self-sabotage because Gojo himself trained Megumi, wanted him to be a sorcerer, wanted him to improve. It’s like Gojo unknowingly created and perfected his own deadly weapon. It wasn’t intentional, of course, but it’s fascinating to see how, in a way, his loving and selfless nature contributed to his own death. So yeah he’s just like willing to bear it all as long as he can give and receive love. He’s really doing it all for love and taking it all for EVERYONE, he just wants love in return. Sooooo I’m still analyzing details, so my rambles will be even more accurate in the future okay??? Also, I’m trying to improve and be at least half as good as all the other editors, but I spent way too much time on this and it’s not even one of my favorite lol.
