Just wanna clarify that nurses (all hc staff) HAVE to get short nails bc it’s such a risk of collecting bacteria that we can transfer to our patients

I thought healthcare workers aren’t allowed even nail polish due to infection control. Nails are meant to be cut short as possible to keep clean?

Yup. Even as a medical assistant, we have protocols on length, polish, and artificial nails (we can not have gel/acrylic/shellac due to bacteria)
