Curses & Other Buried Things has been out in the world for nearly a year. 🤯 Thanks to everyone who read, shared, and reviewed the book. And an extra thanks to those of you who shared your love of the book with me! I didn’t get to do everything I wanted to do for this book. I struggled with that reality at first, but my dear friend @erin encouraged me to trust that the book would continue its work and reach the right people without me. It has. Writing Curses forced me to wrestle with my own family legacy and find peace. It left me totally different from how it found me, and I still can’t believe all the parallels between my life and Susana’s. Hey, I even ended up with my own Godwin haha. Curses was my last big book for a while. I have some stories in draft but none in the publishing queue. That said, I feel good about Curses being my concluding note to the world for a few years. It’s who I am as an author. It’s the pretty bow on the gift that is my time as a novelist. Although this book didn’t get the same hoopla that Dearest Josephine and The Summer We Forgot received, it’s my favorite. Please read it.
