If you go with pine pellets get them from a large animal pet supply place. Cheaper than the pine “cat litter” and it is the same!

Just advice don’t get pretty litter. I got it for a small space and it made odor and the mess worse.

Pellots- best to layer two boxes, the top with some holes at the bottom so that you can shake out the deteriorated pellets easier (into bottom one)

I did use pine pellets in my apartment but recommend paper pellets instead. Nobody wants litter sawdust tracked around!

I use The Worlds Best made of corn. It doesn't smell. I found it lavender scented & love it. red bag at Walmart. so good.

Recycled paper pellets are the besttttt and you can get them super cheap! My cat does flick them a little but they’re so much easier to clean 😌
