I find more females are diagnosed with Anxiety particularly Social and separation Anxiety when behaviors could fit on the spectrum.

or there are just less reports because autistic traits are seen as "submissive" or "cute" in women while in men they are seen as "childish"

Aren’t there genetic markers for Autism, if so, why not just do genetic testing rather than rely on diagnosing based on presentation?

As a female my social difficulties were definitely under higher scrutiny, but my Acedemic struggles were normalized as being a “Ditz”. 🙃

I think it’s really sad when women go to their doctors or pyschs and want to pursue autism and they get dismissed solely because of their gender.
