In culinary school they simply teach against this because food can grow mold and moisture on it they only say wash it before used

Berries are super prone to fungus/mold even if you can’t see it, that’s why it’s treated w fungicide do NOT wash before storing -horticulture degree

I've always been told you shouldn't wash until you're ready to use bc they'll rot and mold faster.
