The venting isn’t for battery life. Venting is for hydrocarbons which the batteries emit. Avoids spark boom!

they last long time because of the intelligent charging systems these cars have- not because they are tucked away in the trunk or properly vented.

Work great until they don't and the trunk is electric and you can't open it, so you have to dumb some dumb trick to give the car temp power
